What actually makes text read as AI-written
Four patterns account for most of it. Sentences cluster around a single length, so the prose has no rhythm. Every paragraph is structurally identical — claim, support, restatement. Transitions come from a narrow set of connectives that human writers use far less often. And hedging is applied evenly, where a person would be confident in one sentence and vague in the next.
None of those are vocabulary problems. You can replace every noun in an AI paragraph and it will still read as AI, because the shape is intact. This is also why detectors work: they are measuring the regularity of that shape, not looking up a list of words.
What HumanInk changes, and what it refuses to change
Changed: sentence length distribution, clause ordering, where emphasis falls, how transitions are made, where the prose is confident and where it hedges. In practice this means one paragraph may become two, a three-clause sentence may become a short one followed by a long one, and a limp summary sentence may simply be deleted.
Not changed: every number, percentage, date, proper noun and the direction of every claim. The fidelity guard checks these after each pass and the run fails closed — a draft that lost a figure or flipped a claim never reaches you.

A realistic expectation
Humanization is a rewrite, not a filter. Text that was thin to begin with comes back as well-shaped thin text. The tool changes how your prose reads; it does not add an argument you did not make.
Where it earns its place is on drafts that are substantively good and stylistically flat — which is most AI output, and most of what people actually need fixed.

Up to 600 words per pass. Longer documents are handled by running sections through in sequence, which also gives you control over how heavily each section is rewritten.
Will my numbers and citations survive?
